Missing Texture fandragon real!
I want to get my hands on a mate and make a pair too, but that's a lower priority since I already have one!

See here is my take on this - I would not stop anyone from reading the KJV but I definitely recommend reading other translations. It is old and it can be hard to understand and even when you do understand it it's probably old enough to be very different from the way you normally speak
I stand pretty firm on this: little children should not be reading from the King James translation. Aside from being inaccurate, there is no benefit in children reading scripture and not understanding what they are even saying
#bible translations#christianity#especially with kids there are other translations less hard to understand#if someone makes it about the textus receptus it misses the point#you can find modern translations of that

Mason is a mature and intelligent person, having a strong sense of curiosity who wishes to conduct much research on unfamiliar topics - cultures, history, the secrets, and many more. Despite this, however, they’re a lot more reserved and shy, awkward on a social level. They’re naive at best, but their heart is good and true.
(TW for Death)
When Mason was 7, they lost their parents - Augustine and Chantana - in a car accident, eventually waking up in a hospital bed with their uncle beside them with tears in his eyes. Since then, they were soon adopted and taken care of by their uncle Theodore Thacker and sometimes their Aunt Anita, Uncle Dao, and cousins Cass and Adrian when Theodore became very busy with his work. Growing up after the accident, they became rather closed off to their peers, which led them to become homeschooled for the remainder of grade school and middle school up until they entered high school. When they were around 9-13, their aunt and uncles signed up for summer camp as no one in their family wants their child to be holed in a room for ages and to socialize with the kids their age. They didn’t make new friends, until they met Lisbeth Graham at age 10. Mason finds her very pretty and both kids became friends instantly. At age 13, they confessed their feelings to Lisbeth which she reciprocated and started dating. Throughout their independent study, Theodore was amazed by their intellect. Thanks to that, they joined high school early on, also amazing their teachers for their intellect too. Fast forward, Mason (age 17) finally got accepted into a university. There, they ended up rooming with Hayley Li and Wendell Carter, even celebrating their 18th birthday. However, when Mason started moving to their roommates, they got a call from Lisbeth, she announces that she’s breaking up with them - they’re still on good terms today. One day in September after class was over, they missed a bus but saw a black carriage sitting close to the university. They wondered why it was there, but decided to ride it as they don’t want to take the chances of having to wait for another bus (they haven’t gotten their license yet). Little did they know, they were soon transported into another world - a whole new world full of new discoveries for them.
Facts:
•Uncle Theodore is a history fanatic and always rave about history and gave a lot of educational facts that it stuck onto Mason
•Their butterfly earrings were actually a gift from their mom when they got their ears pierced at age 5
•Very interested in different cultures
•Thanks to their uncle, they learned about their Lao culture
•A Nerd and Horror fan
•Fashion sense is inspired by campy horror movies (Ginger Snaps, Lisa Frankenstein, etc.)
•Would hurt a fly but never kill a man
•Very sensitive to loud sounds, anxious too
•Theodore owns a cat named Fluffy, which Mason loves
•Loose identity on gender (Uncle Theo would still support them through and through)
•Finds being in Twisted Wonderland a great opportunity
•Amazing Swimmer
•Clothes that they got (in twst wonderland) are donated to them
•Unique Taste in music
•Necklace is their birthday present from their uncle
•Both Uncle and niece would travel during summer or winter breaks
•When Mason and Lisbeth were around 11, they tried to do witchcraft and the occult - starting with attempting to communicate Mason’s dead parents. They continued with witchcraft until Mason stopped to focus more on their studies, leading to the break up.
•Loves Spam Musubi because it was the first meal they ever made
•Hates carrots due to the texture
•Used to work at Hayley’s parents’ restaurant: The Silver Dragon
•Not only did they lose their parents, they also lost their grandfather in high school
•Sometimes hangs out with their dad’s side of the family when Theodore got very busy with work.

congratulations! well deserved <3
as for requests, anything with yoon jeonghan......as long as it's not angst (i know, so unlike me to ask for something with him, i know)
- livvie (this is so late vnjcngng)

Pairing: Jeonghan x f!reader
Genre: fluff, smut
Word count: 1.1K
tags: vanilla, intimate sex, warm embraces, soft jeonghan, light hair pulling (giving)
author note: just something intimate for those lonely nights
It’s late to the point you fall asleep without noticing. You settle into bed early, looking at the life updates of family and friends on social media, and sigh, wondering when he would get home tonight. Your eyelids fall heavy, drowning in the silence and peacefully succumbing to the soothing peace of the pitch-black night sky.
Even so, your ears are alert. There's a soft crack of the door, followed by its closing. You rustle in bed, cuddling closer against your pillow, to soon hear the water run in the shower. The familiar scent of mandarin oranges hit your nose and you sigh. The faucet turns off soon enough. Another door shuts and in several seconds, a body dips into the cushion of the bed. Their weight took over the entire half of the bed and an arm layer over your figure as he crawls under the sheets. A pair of lips chastely lands under your ear.
You smile, turning your head to see his face. "You're home."
"And you're awake." Jeonghan mimics your expression, stroking your hair.
Your full form meets parallel to his. You snuggle closer to him. There's hardly any distance to breathe. Multiple kisses scatter all over your face gently and you smile content. Your hand cups the side of his cheek and feel the sudden coil in your stomach gazing into those wrung tired eyes. His lips press harder against your lips, his grip tightening around you, using you like his own personal pillow. His nose rubs against yours. "I missed you."
"I missed you more." You hum.
The curve of his lips fits perfectly between yours and you can smell the spearmint mouthwash. He moves in deeper, anxiously prodding his tongue. The shape of his soft erection nudging your thigh, subtle aligning itself against your arousal-stained panties. You softly moan, your finger running through the back of his head and through his slightly damp hair. “You should’ve dried it at least a little.”
“I thought being in bed with you was more important.”
His hand presses against the small of your back, your stomach hitting the skin of his exposed abdomen. He inhales you, moaning softly in your ear. “You smell so good."
"Thank you, I hoped you would notice."
"Oh yeah," His hand crept underneath your oversized shirt, "For anything special?"
“You’re a special enough reason,” You retort with a grin.
Chuckling, his hands embrace your sides, trailing up until he finds your perky nipples, squeezing them between his fingers while grinding into you. Your leg tangles with his, his thigh squeezing between your legs and rubbing your clothed cunt, fingering through the quickly detectable slit. Your stomach tenses up, and you feel your arousal pool inside of you. “Can we, please?”
“You’re not tired?” he asks softly.
You shake your head, watching him expectantly with half-opened eyes.
“Fuck it.”
Jeonghan palms at his erection, pulling his waistband and letting it unravel by landing the elastic on the underside. His fingers rub against its size and the head teasingly brushed against your underwear, nudging the hem away. It glides against your moisture so easily. He parts your hair to the side, slowly rolling his hips into you.
You press up against his warmth, charging up against him until you feel him roll on top of you with ease. He grasps the surface of your cheek and tips your chip up for a tender kiss, his lower body plunging to you so sweet and addictively. You gasp at the sensation, clutching his sides for support. “Mm, Hannie.”
He tucks your leg behind him, digging his legs deeper into the mattress. He adores your skin beneath your clothes, his tonguing running along the texture of your perky buds, and handing the opposite end like clay, a single index finger rubbing against that one playfully. “You’re so pretty, I missed you.”
“I missed you…”
You instinctively anchor around him, losing yourself to the sounds of his grunts, the ways way he holds you, and the pure sensual tension in the bedroom. Your back arch, clutching him desperately. He balances you, pulling you up in his lap in a sitting position. You gaze down at him, clenching around his throbbing length, and lift your left up and down from your thighs. No matter how tired you were, you always had the energy.
Your foreheads kissing, you could feel the warmth of his body transfer over you. The perspiration on his arms mixed with yours as he felt you grind down on his hips. “Oh darling, just like that.”
You persist, using Jeonghan how he liked it. He couldn’t help but fit handfuls of your ass and squeeze it all too tight. “You’re so perfect. I’ve wanted to see you all–d-day.”
You hum in his ear, teeth grazing against his earlobe, and pushes on top of his deeper, slower. “Really? What do think about when you miss me?”
“I-” he gulps, “miss your warm, long hugs. How you call me Hannie.”
Your hand falls to the side of his face, ensuing a deep exchange of eyes, longingly looking at one another, one seemingly more in control at the moment, and that someone wasn’t Jeonghan. “Tell me more, my love.”
He gasps softly, your hand runs through his hair, lightly tugging from his scalp, and comprehensive thoughts gradually escape him. “Y-your thighs…ass…pussy…love so…m-much.”
“Do they all make you feel good?” your tone comes off sultry and rich.
“Yes.” His hips thrust up into your warm, feeling your tight heat enveloping him in bliss. “Fuck you nice…and steady.”
Your mouth drops ajar, moans leaving in a staccato rhythm fall over on top of him, whimpering. “Hannie…more…”
The man conjures up all the strength in his lower body to give you want, plunging in deep, fast, and reckless. Although at times he can be weak, he knows exactly what is expected of him in bed and he never disappoints. Your eyes roll to the back of your skull, hands hard gripping the sheet between the man's head, and cries how close you are.
“Cum, love. Please,” Jeonghan pleads.
Your eyes flutter weakly, knees stamping in the mattress, and you climax around him soundly. Your hips twitch on top of him, face buried into the crook of his neck as his arm loops around your shoulder, deep kisses press to your warm cheeks. Jeonghan still thrusts into steady pumps, chasing his high, and the overwhelming sensation of your post-orgasm sensitivity hits you hard. You brace for impact, your whines bouncing off the walls, biting down on the sheets until the last thrust, filling your warm with his hot release. You knock back into his build, feeling his assuring hand smooth over your back. His lips kiss your sore hands, embracing your clammy sides, and patting your back.
“Good job, baby.”

Dmitry declared his love. How sweet. The realist in her believed it with a side of skepticism to protect both of them just in case all while hoping for the best.
Nico probably also at some point told him Nova didn't trust the church either. It was a complicated relationship considering she was harboring a child of Hell.
"Help how?" She didn't understand how he could help her or what he really meant as he looked like he wanted to reach out for her hands. She didn't resist. She nodded a yes.
He left a moment later and came back with a rosary and a story to match it. She hadn't expected him to bring one so quickly. She looked over the exquisite detail as he explained why it was so sentimental. She ran her fingers gently over the precious metal and beading. It was the idea that he would have given it to Nico if he could actually touch it that touched her.
"I'll take extra care. I'll be sure to hold onto it in his stead."
Then out came a second one that seemed to be sturdier that she could be less delicate with.
"Thank you, really. This will do just fine."
Nico would text back that he'd put that on the list and that it was a good idea giving Dmitry credit for good looking out about the time Nova was saying, "I don't speak Russian either."
She started to smile as he explained the reason for having the dang Vulgate in Russian of all languages. "Clever. How clever you are." She was impressed.
As for why she wanted different versions specifically, "Hmm how do I put this? Anti-Catholics? Yes, Anti-Catholics believe Catholics hide scripture and refuse to translate into any formal language. It goes back to the whole forced conversion of the England. Anyway, the Douay-Rheim's say theirs is supreme because it's based off the Vulgate basically Catholic shit. However, the King James people believe theirs is the shit because it's based on the Textus Receptus and believe theirs was written under divine inspiration. In other words, the King James went straight from Greek to English, as opposed to Greek to Latin to English. This goes a long way in the telephone game of translating.
"The rest of the history of translations beyond that is meaningless to me. What I need is to be able to cross reference because no book can be trusted when there's so much misinformation because I trust no one. What I need is to miss nothing because a translator picked and chose his words to appeal to a certain audience. Religious texts are puzzle pieces full of clues that destroy or protect us if we read carefully enough. I need all the words. I could miss something too valuable.
"For example. Just off the top of my head something so simple and common. Ecclesiastes King James is harder to remember but it's something like 'Is there anything whereof it maybe said, see this is new?' But in the Douy it says 'Nothing under the sun is new.' It's where people get There's nothing new under the sun from. It's just easier to say. I want to not miss a meaning either because of stupid wording. But I need to be able to cross reference because the fucked-up wording is what an exorcist or a witch or summoner that might try to control my son learns to chant and I need to know what's being hurled at him, recognize it, so I know what to counter with. I can't do that if I don't fully understand it. So, I study, and I study a lot."
She was relentless. That's why she looked exhausted. She never let her mind rest even in the hospital. She was always planning for the day she could help again.
As for what else he could help her obtain.
"I was going to ask for the New Revised Standard too just in case. You can never have too many. But just a few things let me think."
While she calmed her mind to think it through, he asked about Nico's name. Oh, that one made her smile. It withered as soon as it grew. It was a sad sort of smile; one filled with disappointment despite a good memory. It was a touchy memory. This was where Dmitry would hear Nova start to open up willingly without being asked. Enough bond had been made. She'd talk here more than she probably had since she'd gotten there.
"It's in combination of his middle. Niccolo Jeremiah. The Victor of the People. That's Niccolo. My people. His people. I didn't want him to forget where he came from, his humanity. Jeremiah means God will uplift."
It looked like it almost hurt her to say those last three words. She took a big breath. "I don't even know if I ever told him what it meant. I can't remember anymore. Memories get so blurry in lock up. He was just a little boy. "
She put her hand on her head trying so hard to remember, "Oh wait, maybe I did? I think I remember him getting mad the story of the Weeping Prophet Jeremiah because he was always such a negative child. His life was so full of hardship he didn't see the point. Pretty sure he's murdered in the end, I forget. Which is contradictory to the name's meaning." She laughed soft recalling her little boy pouting about it once she remembered.
"One of my favorites is from Jeremiah though. It says, well to be specific as we just mentioned, in the Douay-Rheims 'The heart is perverse above all things, and unsearchable, who can know it?' Another version says, 'The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it?' But I remember very specifically the first time I came across it I read, and I don't recall the version, 'The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?' That hit me to the core. Beyond cure is a lot to say for a prophet. What about the word unsearchable in the other? Isn't that what is in every person's word of advice when making a choice? Just search your heart. Follow your heart, right? Even the delivery of 'who can understand it' felt sassy like fuck it instead of the more archaic language tones where the question who can know it seems meant for a preacher to deliver a point there. Stop and speak. God can. Look to God. Always look to God. But I say to you, just be careful when listening to your heart. I think it means in matters of the heart it can't always be trusted. Love isn't what people think it is so we must be careful when listening to our hearts. That's what I think. Look where it got me."
She paused there. Maybe that was a little too revealing of her heart.
She shook her head. "I think I became obsessed with the different versions too in trying to teach Nico. Trying to figure out how to reword them and tell him the stories to some extent without making his ears bleed or sick to his stomach and without sending the wrong message. But know even though it doesn't matter what language it's spoken in the demons are especially sensitive to it being spoken in Latin for some reason."
Her mind had gone back to the different translations, but she wasn't finished speaking on why she chose the name. Here's where the opening up truly began. She glanced up at him in that double checking their safe space first sort of way.
"It wasn't just the meaning of Niccolo. That's why I chose it. As in me. But it wasn't just me involved. It was my favorite of which his father allowed me to choose from back in college. He was my philosophy professor. I didn't know what he was at first. I did by the time he was born, but we'd have so many theological conversations outside of class. Aside from the demonic naming he needed a name for while he was on earth and he wanted it to be named after a nod to some our best talks, places we hit an impasse in ways of thinking. Niccolò Machiavelli was one we went back to many times. So, he finds great pride in making me name my son after a man whose reputation is that of an atheist tyrannical cynic. That's why I find great pleasure in knowing the ironic meaning of the name.
"I find a lot of irony in the name actually. People don't fear Machiavellian concepts like they once did. People now use The Prince he wrote as a guide to understanding evil, so the poor have a handbook. They understand what the rich in power are doing to them if they educate themselves. Sadly, it's very stated it's only those who seek shelter in the blindness of their churches who the evil can overpower. It's all written there step by step how to be corrupt and stay in power by using religion in politics when it's meant to be separated all the way back in the 1600's and still people stay blind in their pews voting republican as the book plainly reveals. Every time I see anything good happen in the world of politics morally I think that's a vote passed for Nico. Someone paid attention."
So who was Nova? Right then she let Dmitry know. She was the person who named her son after everything immoral while hoping he was going to see not everything was what it seemed. A handbook for evil could be the guidebook for the uprising too. It was a lot to put on one little boy. Maybe too much. The heavy hopes of parents that might burden children with them. But, what could Nova do either? She was only human.
Forgive me.
If there was one thing angel ears heard, it was prayers. He said nothing, but the words and the emotion behind them reached deep in his soul, right where it mattered the most. It wasn't his place to forgive her; that wasn't what she needed from him. He could, however, keep his promise — the same vow he'd made before Samael: to save Nico. Dmitry was not consciously aware of this calling he'd accepted, but he nonetheless acted on it in everything he did.
Even in suffering. Even in his patience while Nico figured things out. He was patient with Nico and he was gentle, even when it hurt. Especially when it hurt.
Nova saw it: he loved Nico.
The way she warned him about Nico was received as approval. Oh, he knew she meant it, he knew it was serious. But it also sounded, to him, like approval. He gave her a soft grin and crossed his heart with his pinky finger in the most serious of promises. "I'll love him forever, no matter what. Forever."
Nova was right; there was conflict. But Dmitry did mean his words seriously, too. It was no idle promise, no joke. He had framed it with the lighthearted demeanor he often kept, but he meant it as seriously as he loved the stars. Whether Nico would be able to understand it in the future, even through his self-exile in Russia, he loved. The anger would come from love, from the refusal to let go; not out of rejection nor hate.
Dmitry tilted his head, listening to her request for the rosary and the Bibles. That made sense, too, though he almost hadn't been expecting it either. He remembered distantly that Nico had once mentioned how she'd tried to teach him. He reached for her hands again, to comfort her, and to get her attention. He felt the turmoil, and he still wasn't sure what sort of withdrawals to expect her to go through, either.
"Let me help you. Please?" His voice was still quiet, still soft. This was for her, but it was also for himself. He couldn't just stand and watch someone suffer if there was anything he could do to help. He was calm enough that hopefully it would help her too. He didn't himself realize, but part of the urge to reach for her hands was that, in the same way he often accidentally bled his own feelings into others through physical touch when overwhelmed, he could do with the calm.
Now, her actual request. He nodded. "I have something for you, gimme a sec."
Just like that, he wandered off to look through his things and pulled out a drawstring pouch. He pulled the top open and took her hand gently, emptying the contents into it. "This is sentimental, don't go using it for rituals or nothing. It's for you; I'd have given it to him but... So I'm giving it to you, so you know I meant what I said earlier. This one's the one I was holding one night after... doing something I needed to do. I was feeling all sorts of ways, and he just... He understood. That night, he kissed me. I'll never forget the way he kissed me. That's why this one matters."
The night on the hill. Even now he still kept the rosary he'd had in his hands then, beads colored with dried blood he'd never dared clean off. It was special. It deserved to be kept.
Then he dug through his pockets and found another rosary, this one less elaborate, more basic. Still blessed, the both of them; he always took care to have them blessed. He gave her the second rosary with a nod. "This one's fair game."
As for the Bibles, he sat on the countertop like she had done earlier and took another drink from the bottle. "Interesting choice in translations. Vulgate, yeah, classic. Gonna take me a while to find but I can get one in print for you." He quickly texted Nico to ask if he was getting Nova a phone, and 'actually just add that to the list if you didn't already'. "Now, mine's in Russian, it's... I figured it would keep Nico from actually reading it by mistake. Told him what it is, of course, but I figured if he can't read it to begin with then it might not be as bad as if it were in English? So I gotta actually get ya the other two. I have to ask, why King James and Douay-Rheims? They're similar. I guess the deuterocanon isn't in the King James, but you can technically get one with it included. I'll get you both though, I'm just curious. Those I can get today. What else do you need?"
And then an afterthought. "Why Niccolo? I mean, his name. Why Niccolo?"

Of Malice and Mercy (8:1 – 11, 4/23/2023)
COMMENTARY:
I use the KJV all the time for the poetry of its interpretation. The Textus Receptus is actually a Greek translation of the Gutenberg KJ. It's like Genesis 41"32" the KJV "doubling" is a more vivid discription of the experience of the action of the Holy Spirit in the personal consciousness.
The numerology of Acts 10 suggests that Cornelius was attached in some manner to the X Legion which was encamped on the Mout Olives during the seige and reduction of Jerusalem. John Mark had access to what we call Quelle, the intelligence archives assembled by Cornelius from the eye witness spy accounts of Jesus routinely filed prior to His arrest. John Mark is making the connection between Jesus and Cornelius. It is not unlikely that John Mark came to know Josephus.
I think John Mark appropriated this story to fit in with the erotic quality of his narrative, This woman fits in with the woman with the chronic flow, the Samaritan Woman,. Martha and Mary on Palm Sunday, Mary or Bethany's reprise of Ruth covering the feet of Boaz . The anointing of Jesus in Mark is Peter's version of events, with an allusion to the anointing of David by Jesus. Peter was a typical Jewish misogynist. Totally asexual but misogynist none the less. Who we know as Mary of Bethany was the alleged harlot of Peter's version and, as I say, she conducts a very public and erotic reprise of Ruth's marriage proposal to Boaz
This is where Hege's historical Gestalt from the Phenomenology of Spirit comes in hanty. Jesus is the singural figure in all four cospels, the leading edge of the epistemology of the narrative. There are 4 different fields defined by this singular figure The Gospel of Mark has the Roman military sociology and the anthropology of a senior centurion of the Italian Cohort of the Praetorian Guard in Rome. The Praetorian Guard was the administrative state of the Roman Empire. When Constantine dismantled iin the wake of Milvian Bridge, the Roman began to fall apart within the century.
The Gospel fo John is the Jerusalem Sociology and the anthropology of a a Jewish boy between 12 and 15 years of age who who had a serious idol worship relationship with Jesus.
The Gospel of Matthew has the same Jewish sociology as Jesus and the anthropology of the Judaizer.
The Gospel of Luke is a Mediterranean Sociology and the cosmopolitan anthropology of a Greek OB/GYN with a Jewish book.
The anthropology of all four is profounding Hellenistic. The opening overture of the Gospel of John could have been the legend for Philo of Alexandria's school. The Alexandria Jews were fascinated by Hellenism and Plato. For one thing, Hebrews at that time had a vocabular of about 80,000 words and Greek had a vocabular of 250 - 3000,000 words which could get into the nooks and crannies of the Torah in unbelievable ways.
Jesus died a virgin, but He was absolute catnip to the women around Him.
The Law of Moses worked like Sharia law ofr women: it was a woman's fault to get raped. The difference with what this woman was dealing with compared to the Samaritan woman is of the essence. .
Anyway, Hegel's literary critical method celebrates the texture and emotional ambience of the horseradish of a Jewish boy's living memory of the raw charisma of Jesus in contrast to the emotinally flat Roman military journalism of the Gospel of Mark
As I've pointed out in previous commentary, εὐθὺς is an apparatus that demonstrates the grounding of the conical Gospels as grounded in Quelle that is missing from other contemporary writing, For example, The Gospel of Thomas has no similar grounding and can be authentically classified as representing the oral tradition of Christianity that Bart Ehrman insists of classifying the canan as representing.
In this regards, the Gospel of Matthew is a polemic composed to support Peter's claim to Church leadership and to his campaign as a Judaizer that Paul complains about in Galatians. The redaction analysis of Matthew against the Roman military journalism of Mak demonstrates that Mack captures all the theological dots coincidental to the singularity of Jesus without the anthropological connections of Matthew,. For example, Peter's testimony in Mark fails to mention the episode of Peter walking on water It is probably a fabrication to advance Peter's status with the Jerusalem Church after the Jerusalem Conference.
Another thing you brushed against in this commentary is that the Roman presence is totally airbrushed out of John. As I've pointed out before, the healing of the healing of the Official's son was a reworked version of the encounter in both Matthew and Luke with the centurion .
John makes clear in John 18:26 that there is no Jewish witness to what happens in the Praetorium, that everything to come out of it, especially Mark 16, is Roman testimony. Mark 15 is a summary of the intelligence report Pilate sent to Rome after the Resurrection that Turtillian cites from Roman archives in Book V of his Apology. The Gospel of Peter is probably the version of Mark 15 that Cornelius relayed to Peter during their initial debriefing after Peter's confession in Acts 10 34 - 43.
When yo realize that the singular figure of Jesus is the Hegelian narrative constant in the 4 Gospels, the beauty and physical charisma of Jesus truly begins to explode out of history determined by the historical critical analysis of Marx. John Dominick Crossan notwithstanding, the Romans were a largely laissez=faire administration. There essential mission in Palestine was to patrol and police the trade routes coming down from Europe and across the Levant from Asia to the land bridge into Africa at Gaza. The mention of the Herodians in Mark demonstrates that the Roman intelligence services kept up with the internal politics of Jerusalem, but they only really surrounded Jerusalem with two legions during Passover as a crowd control measure rather that an exercise in oppression (from the Roman perspective. The Romans were fully aware of the various political factions in Judea, and they were totally blindsided by the delivery of Jesus to execution bu the Herodians and Zealots.
Christianity is a Roman covenant and it wouldn't exist without Mark 15. And the combination of the narrative of John with the narrative of Mark serves to illustrate the sheer voluptuousness of the person of Jesus as He moves through region. When the combination of Mark and John reveals just how peripetia Jesus and the Apostles were during those three years, Richard Bauckham's commentary on the geography of the Gospels would blow Bart Ehrman totally out of the water in a rational world.
Cornelius was in the room with Jesus during Pilate's interrogation. The Gospel of Mark is what happened BEFORE Mark 15 from contemporary spy reports and the eyewitness accounts of Peter, Cornelius and John Mark, as a character, contributor, editor and publisher of the Gospel of Cornelius, John Mark, editor and publisher. As Dan Wallace points out, 90% of the manuscripts before the 4th century came out of Alexandria, the first Christian publishing house.

Assignment 1
Task
This week’s assignment involves decision trees, and more specifically, classification trees. Decision trees are predictive models that allow for a data driven exploration of nonlinear relationships and interactions among many explanatory variables in predicting a response or target variable. When the response variable is categorical (two levels), the model is a called a classification tree. Explanatory variables can be either quantitative, categorical or both. Decision trees create segmentations or subgroups in the data, by applying a series of simple rules or criteria over and over again which choose variable constellations that best predict the response (i.e. target) variable.
Run a Classification Tree.
You will need to perform a decision tree analysis to test nonlinear relationships among a series of explanatory variables and a binary, categorical response variable.

In this Assignment the Decision tree has been applied to classification of breast cancer detection.
Attribute Information:
id - ID number
diagnosis (M = malignant, B = benign)
3-32 extra features
Ten real-valued features are computed for each cell nucleus: a) radius (mean of distances from center to points on the perimeter) b) texture (standard deviation of gray-scale values) c) perimeter d) area e) smoothness (local variation in radius lengths) f) compactness (perimeter^2 / area - 1.0) g) concavity (severity of concave portions of the contour) h) concave points (number of concave portions of the contour) i) symmetry j) fractal dimension ("coastline approximation" - 1)
All feature values are recoded with four significant digits. Missing attribute values: none Class distribution: 357 benign, 212 malignant
Results
Generated decision tree can be found below:
In [17]:img
Out[17]:
Decision tree analysis was performed to test nonlinear relationships among a series of explanatory variables and a binary, categorical response variable (breast cancer diagnosis: malignant or benign).
The dataset was splitted into train and test samples in ratio 70\30.
After fitting the classifier the key metrics were calculated - confusion matrix and accuracy = 0.924. This is a good result for a model trained on a small dataset.
From decision tree we can observe:
The malignant tumor is tend to have much more visible affected areas, texture and concave points, while the benign's characteristics are significantly lower.
The most important features are:
concave points_worst = 0.707688
area_worst = 0.114771
concave points_mean = 0.034234
fractal_dimension_se = 0.026301
texture_worst = 0.026300
area_se = 0.025201
concavity_se = 0.024540
texture_mean = 0.023671
perimeter_mean = 0.010415
concavity_mean = 0.006880

Plots
For visualization purposes, the number of dimensions was reduced to two by applying t-SNE method. The plot illustrates that our classes are not clearly divided into two parts, so the nonlinear methods (like Decision tree) may solve this problem.
In [15]:model = TSNE(random_state=rnd_state, n_components=2) representation = model.fit_transform(data.iloc[:, 2:])
In [16]:plt.scatter(representation[:, 0], representation[:, 1], c=data.diagnosis, alpha=0.5, cmap=plt.cm.get_cmap('Set1', 2)) plt.colorbar(ticks=range(2));
Decision tree
In [6]:predictors = data.iloc[:, 2:] target = data.diagnosis
To train a Decision tree the dataset was splitted into train and test samples in proportion 70/30.
In [7]:(predictors_train, predictors_test, target_train, target_test) = train_test_split(predictors, target, test_size = .3, random_state = rnd_state)
In [8]:print('predictors_train:', predictors_train.shape) print('predictors_test:', predictors_test.shape) print('target_train:', target_train.shape) print('target_test:', target_test.shape) predictors_train: (398, 30) predictors_test: (171, 30) target_train: (398,) target_test: (171,)
In [9]:print(np.sum(target_train==0)) print(np.sum(target_train==1)) 253 145
Our train sample is quite balanced, so there is no need in balancing it.
In [10]:classifier = DecisionTreeClassifier(random_state = rnd_state).fit(predictors_train, target_train)
In [11]:prediction = classifier.predict(predictors_test)

Singlem Insomnia z roku 1997, jehož sugestivnost a naléhavost umocňují přímo dramatické klávesy a kazatelský vokál, ovlivnili Faithless taneční hudbu a pochopitelně inspirovali pár nejapných plagiátorů.
My Rolla známe moc dobře, zůstává součástí kapely. On chodí na zkoušky, když živá vystoupení připravujeme. A pak on má doma vždycky spoustu práce. SB: On se nerad fotí. Focení si příliš neoblíbil. Vždycky pak říká, že vypadá hrozně. On není zrovna pop star.

Moc sexy to teda nebylo.
SB: Asi Walking On The Moon od The Police, myslím...
MJ: Jo, my žádnej trance neděláme. A veškerý náš úspěch pochází z klubů, vždycky nás podporovali lidi v klubech a DJs.
Drum´n´bassové rytmy a undergroundový přístup k nahrávkám a přinesli do projektu Markee a Darren, kteří v Bristolu organizovali klubovou noc jménem Roughneck Ting, naopak písničkové postupy a folkové nálady přicházejí od velšské zpěvačky Sian.

Fabric
The word 'textile' comes from the Latin adjective textilis, meaning 'woven', which itself stems from textus, the past participle of the verb texere, 'to weave'. The word 'fabric' also derives from Latin, with roots in the Proto-Indo-European language.
Fabric is what something is made from, especially clothing. Silk is a common fabric, but you can also talk about "the fabric of society." ... The basic structure of a building or a vehicle can also be called fabric, and non-physical things can be represented as fabric too.
Fabric fab ric fa bric f abric fab brick

Alright! this is my dream topic.
Please, when choosing a translation, keep in mind which Greek/Hebrew text it was translated out of.
95% or more of extant Greek and Hebrew manuscripts agree with each other on everything. These are the texts that have been handed down as far back as history can remember. 5% or less of the extant manuscripts disagree both with the majority text and with each other; yet scholars debate about which of these differences are right, and some even speak of 'reconstructing' the original or 'figuring out' what the original said, when a 95% consensus is standing right in front of them.
The differences are extremely important. Whole passages are left out. Parts and fragments of verses. Some versions add a 'not' into a verse to completely change its meaning. One verse that tells us how to get rid of a particular kind of devil possession - a devil that affects children - is missing entirely. (The way to get rid of the devil is by prayer and fasting, BTW.) Is the woman's curse that your desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee, or is it that her desire will be against her husband? The very passage that says all Scripture is given by inspiration by God and is profitable for instruction, reproof, etc - one of the most clear-cut verses for inspiration of Scripture - is changed to all Scripture THAT IS given by inspiration, indicating that not all Scripture is inspired and only the inspired bits are useful to for instruction, reproof, and so on. I won't even get into how the name 'Lucifer' is changed into 'day/morning star' when morning star is JESUS'S TITLE. (See Isaiah 14:12 and the veryyy end of Revelation, I think chapter 22? It's like the last few verses in the Bible.)
Scholars - textual critics - argue that the oldest manuscripts available to us (dated as early as 130 AD, but only discovered in 1946) support the 5% reading. In secular textual criticism, the oldest text is the most reliable as it is nearest in time to the writing of the original; however, when handling the Word of God, this particular secular practice holds no water. God promised us his Word would endure forever, and he clearly intended it to be read and used for reproof, instruction, edification, etc. These 'oldest manuscripts' might have been around for longer, but a key point is that they weren't discovered until 1946, only seventy years ago. If these oldest manuscripts are the true Word of God, as opposed to to the traditional text handed down since we can reember, then God has hid his Word (or allowed it to be hid) for two thousand years, unusable and unknown, and we have been spreading words that are not his. This is not in God's character and I believe it is the majority text, the traditional text, that is the true Word of God, preserved and in use for two thousand years.
I feel that this evidence completely dominates the argument, to the point that I feel I only have one side of the debate. However, I have not been able to find anyone who argues against the majority text - the Textus Receptus - with the assumptions I have outlined about traditional text versus oldest texts - nor have I been able to find anyone who challenges those assumptions.

Nilstheweber says they's no longer in the KJV-Only camp, but I'm going to address this subject anyway. A lot of KJV-onlyism doesn't make sense and doesn't hold up (I've heard some KJO's believe King James was a contemporary of David's??). I don't know what nilstheweber heard or was taught about KJV-onlyism; however, there are many valid reasons to believe the King James Bible is the Word of God in English (I'll be brief though!).
My strongest evidence lies in the way every word is important; the KJV defines its own words consistently throughout the Bible, leading to knowledge and understanding that would otherwise be lost. Even the number of times a word is used in the Bible relates to the numerical symbolism the Bible uses and that symbolism lines up with the meaning of the word.
I'll give you 'repent' and its various forms (repented, repents, repentance, etc) as an example. Off the top of my head, there are 39 uses of the word in the Old Testament, and there are 39 books in the Bible. God repents of some intent or action seven times (the number of completion), and only repents in the OT. Man repents of two categories of things; one is moral (repenting from sin, etc) and one is not (repenting of an action that was taken that was not necessarily sinful, etc). Man repents of non-sin-related things six times, the number of man. I could go on. All the words in the Bible do this.
I cannot, of course, force you to accept KJV-onlyism. If I tried, you would just have to laugh at me, because I'm a stranger on the internet and have no power over you, lol. I have cited no sources or even Bible verses, and for that I apologize, but the internet is a vast place to find information for the discerning mind.
--
I would leave you with this last particle of information: I believe the KJV is God's Word in English. However, God's Word also exists in Greek and Hebrew, and people made do with non-inspired translations for quite some time before the KJV was translated. Non-inspired translations are still decent and good! God works in people's lives even with partial, incorrect, paraphrased, or simply clumsy renditions of his Word. Man paraphrases God on a daily basis, and this is good. But please find a translation that comes from the Textus Receptus.
Some keywords for further research:
Don't trust anything that is translated from the Dead Sea Scrolls, 'newly discovered manuscripts,' the Vaticainus or the Sinaiticainus codices, or anything from Westcott, Hort, or Metzger.
Many translations - including the NKJV and NRSV - claim to be 'descendants' or 'revisions' of the KJV - but this is false. They are translated out of different and fallible texts, and I for one will not stand for fallibility in my Bible.
The King James Bible was translated from the Textus Receptus (TR) compiled from the available extant manuscripts by the Greek scholar Erasmus. It also goes by the names Received Text, majority text and traditional text, and acronyms of all of these (TR, RT, and TT at least, I haven't seen MT used).
I hope this has been of some help to you or to my followers!
Which Bible translation should be seen as the best? I've been saved on October 30, 2017, and in December 2017 discovered the old King James. That lead me to the KJV only camp, but I ain't there anymore. I believe the Young Literal's Translation and the Thomson's Translation are a good bit better (not sure if you're familiar with them). I believe the first I read was either the NKJV or the ESV. I can't remember.
There is a lot of freedom in the translation you choose, though some are better than others. You want to find a good balance between literal translation from the original text while also keeping understandable readability in your own language. This is a good article for that

So which version of the Bible is best? Which one should you choose to do your daily reading and study from? Or is there even a best one? There have been countless articles written on this topic over the years. And they often reach different conclusions. The intent of this post is to share my thoughts about how to choose the best translation for you. The Translation Type If you are using an English Bible, or any language other than the original, you will be dealing with translation issues. The Old Testament was mostly written in Hebrew while the New Testament was written in Greek. While it would be wonderful if there was a one-to-one correspondence for every word in Hebrew, Greek, and English, the reality is that there is not. Choices have to be made as to how best to translate from one language into another. Formal Equivalence Some translations attempt to keep the translation as close as possible to the form that it had in the original language. This includes as much as possible a direct translation of the individual words and sentence structure. But since vocabulary and sentence structure varies across languages, a direct translation would be very difficult to read. So the translations using formal equivalence will modify the sentence structure to make it more readable in English. In addition some of the more challenging language idioms may be changed for readability purposes. The KJV, NKJV, NASB and CSB are examples of translations that attempt as much as possible to translate in a more formal fashion. Functional Equivalence Other translations do not adhere as rigidly to the original form of a passage. Instead they focus more on producing a functional equivalent. These translations attempt to reproduce the message and intent of the Scripture without necessarily producing a translation that is as close in language as possible. Some expressions in the original language don't make much sense when directly translated. So more contemporary expressions with meanings as near as possible are used instead. The ESV, NIV and GNB are examples of translations that use a more functional approach. Paraphrase There is a third type of translation, commonly called a paraphrase. These are not really so much translations as they are English versions that carry the message of the Scripture, but told in contemporary terms. Paraphrases are generally easier to read, but not as useful for a more in-depth study of the Scripture. The Message and Living Bibles are examples of paraphrases. Manuscript Families There are thousands of partial and complete Greek manuscripts of the New Testament. And few of these manuscripts agree completely on the text they contain. The vast majority of the differences between them are minor scribal errors; misspellings, inserted, omitted, or reordered words. These differences are understandable when you realize that all of these manuscripts were hand copied. And that there were many generations of these hand copied manuscripts. Each copy is subject to potential scribal copy errors. As time went on the copies produced in a specific location would not vary much. But when compared between distinct locations the differences between the copies would become greater. Scholars today, in comparing the many manuscripts have identified between three and five distinct 'families' of manuscripts. The two most important of these for Bible scholars are the Alexandrian and the Byzantine families. Byzantine Family of Manuscripts This family of manuscripts is centered around Asia Minor and contains far and away the largest number of manuscripts; somewhere in the order of 5000. These manuscripts date as early as the 5th century although most are more recent. In the early 16th century Erasmus, a Roman Catholic scholar, compiled the known manuscripts into a single Greek text. Over the years he revised his work a couple of times, and others produced similar consolidated texts. It is worth noting that all of these consolidated texts were produced by comparing known manuscripts and attempting to produce what the authors thought would be the original. This involved attempting to identify scribal errors and what the text would have been before the error. The King James Version In the early 17th century the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible was produced. While this was not the first English translation, it quickly became the most popular. This version was produced based on the work of Erasmus and a couple of other men. Their work was compared and the most common reading made it into the KJV. Sometime after the KJV was finished the Textus Receptus (TR) was produced. This was the Greek text that was chosen by the KJV translators. It became the standard Greek text of the New Testament for 200 years. But since its production, many older manuscripts have been discovered, but not incorporated into the TR. Alexandrian Family of Manuscripts A second important family of manuscripts was produced around the Egyptian city of Alexandria. While there are only a few hundred of these manuscripts, they are generally much older than the Byzantine family. Some of these manuscripts date back into the early 2nd century. In recent years other Greek texts have been produced that use these old Alexandrian manuscripts, as well as those of the Byzantine family. Like the work of Erasmus, these Greek texts are produced by comparing the existing ancient manuscripts to try and determine what the original text would have been; a process known as textual criticism. These texts, like the Nestle-Aland, are used by most of the modern English translations such as the NASB, the NIV, the CSB and the ESV. These more modern Greek texts generally give more weight to the Alexandrian manuscripts than they do to the Byzantine manuscripts. While the rationale is debated, it is generally felt the the older manuscripts are more reliable. So even though there are vastly more of the more recent manuscripts, the fewer but older manuscripts carry more weight in the translation process. Differences in the Manuscript Families I grew up reading the KJV and was rather shocked when I started reading the NIV; discovering that familiar passages in the KJV were either missing or relegated to footnotes in the NIV. And I know that I am not alone in the confusion that this causes. It is common for those who advocate the KJV to accuse the more modern translators of intentionally removing critical passages from the Bible. But the reality is that some passages, like the ending of Mark and the story of the woman caught in adultery are simply not found in the oldest manuscripts. They would appear not to be a part of the original text, but were something added by scribes during the copying process of the Byzantine manuscripts. But it worth pointing out that none of these additions/subtractions have any real impact on the doctrine of the church. Whether you use the KJV or the NIV, the doctrine it contains is the same. Format When I became a Christian nearly 50 years ago the only choice I had for reading the Bible was to either purchase a printed copy, or invest in a box of tapes and listen to someone read it to me. But that has changed recently. Digital Bibles have become very popular. I frequently read the Bible on my laptop, my Kindle and my phone. And most of my study happens on one of those devices. No matter where I am, I have access to my Bible. And not just a single translation. I have half a dozen different translations on my phone, and many more available if I have an internet connection. On-line Bibles I have found two different types of digital Bible. One is the online Bible. I primarily use Bible Gateway for this. There is a large number of translations to choose from, in a variety of languages. It is easy to search for passages, words, and expressions. And it's basic functionality is free. There are also a large number of study aids available for a modest subscription. The primary downside to it is that it requires an internet connection. If you are traveling, or otherwise disconnected, it is not available. Installed on Your Device The other format is one that is installed directly on you digital device. I use Olive Tree, although there are a number of other sources. This format has the advantage of always being available, but many of the translations and other resources have a one time cost associated with them. Most of the translations, and some of the resources are inexpensive; but some are quite pricey. What I like most about this, besides being always available, is that it is easy to share notes and highlights across devices. The notes I take on my laptop are available when I am out in the mountains, and vice versa. The Downside There is one major problem I have with on-line Bibles. And it is purely a personal one. I find it less convenient to put my finger on a page and then explore supporting passages. It is certainly doable with on-line Bibles. But I find it much easier with a printed copy. I suspect that has more to do with my age than anything. It is how did it for many years prior to the advent of digital Bibles. And it is what I am comfortable with. But that does not prevent me from using on-line Bibles extensively. Without question I spend more time on phone / kindle / laptop reading and studying than I do with a printed copy. Resources One of the issues that you might face with specific translations is the availability of study aids. Most commentaries, concordances and other study tools are either tied to a specific translation, or are referencing one. For commentaries that is not generally a big deal. But it is for concordances and dictionaries. Because of the great amount of effort involved in producing a printed concordance, they are only available for a limited number of translations. The KJV probably has the largest number of printed references, simply because it has been around the longest and has a large following. The NIV also has quite a number of specific study tools, but others will be lacking in this area. But, when using digital Bibles, the need for a printed concordance pretty much goes away. You will be able to search for words, or expressions, across any Bible that you have available. A Word About Study Bibles There are also a number of what are called 'Study Bibles'. These Bibles have commentary or other study notes built into them. These work well for many people. But I am not overly fond of them. I have found that it is sometimes hard to recognize the difference between the actual Scripture, which is God-breathed, and the associated notes, which are not. Just because they are side by side does not give them equal weight. If you use a Study Bible, please make every effort to observe that distinction. Recommendation So which English translation of the Bible should you use? In the end, I don't believe it matters all that much for our general reading and study efforts. Apart from those produced by the Jehovah's Witnesses, or others, to promote a specific non-orthodox theology, they are all good. The most important aspect of picking a translation is to choose one that you will read. Readability is really the most important issue. If you will not read it, or cannot understand it, then it really makes no difference how good it is. Bible Gateway is a good on-line source where you can choose from 100's of translations. Find one that is meaningful to you, and that you will read, and then use it. Over time you may find that you will change to a new translation. And you may discover than using multiple translations works well for you. But, in the end, pick the one that you will read and use it.
